The Light Needs No Reply
The phone lights up with a kind word, and your stomach drops because you have nothing left to give. You stare at the screen, terrified of the performance required to say 'thank you' when you feel so empty.
The mask feels heavy today, glued to a face that wants to crumble. But listen — the light does not need your reply.
It does not need your gratitude to stay lit. There is a peace that does not depend on your ability to perform it.
You can put the phone down. You can let the text sit there, unread and unanswered, without losing your place in the love that holds you.
The silence is not a rejection. It is just a moment where the mask slips, and what remains is enough.
