Rest When the Mask Falls
The phone buzzes with a cancellation, and for a second, your chest loosens. Not because you are lonely, but because you do not have to go out there and wear the face they expect.
You are tired of holding up the mask of being okay for the people you love. But there is a love that does not need your performance to be real.
The light sees behind the smile you paste on every morning. It knows the weight you carry before you even step out the door.
And it says: come as you are, weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. You do not have to earn your place at the table by pretending to be whole.
The mask is heavy, but you were never meant to wear it alone. The relief you feel is not a failure of love; it is your soul remembering that you are safe even when you are not performing.
