The Light Beneath Your Mask
The morning light is harsh on the screen, exposing the gap between the smile you wear now and the one staring back from years ago. You scroll until your thumb aches, searching for the person you used to be, convinced they are lost behind a mask you can no longer take off.
But the light does not need you to recognize yourself to remain inside you. It was there before that photo was taken, and it is here now, beneath the performance.
You do not have to find your way back to who you were. The Father sees the face behind the mask, and he calls it by name.
