watching a loved one flinch when you try to hug them because they're afraid of hurting your fragile bones

Love Is Not Afraid of Your Breakage

The morning light is harsh on the performance of being okay. You reach out to hold them, and they flinch—not from rejection, but from a terror of breaking your fragile bones.

In that suspended second, the air fills with everything unsaid. They see your fragility, and you see their fear, and the mask you both wear cracks just enough to let the truth bleed through.

But listen—there is a knowing that happens before a word is spoken. The light saw you before you even knew you were seen, and it knows exactly how much weight your frame can carry.

It does not ask you to be stronger than you are. It asks you to be real.

The kingdom is not a destination you reach after you heal; it is inside you right now, in the trembling and the holding back. You do not need to perform wholeness to be held.

The love that reached for you is not afraid of your breakage. It is already there, waiting in the quiet space between your reach and their flinch.
