The Sun Rises Without Thanks
The morning light is harsh on the mask you wore an hour ago. You said 'I'm here,' you held the door open, you carried the weight—and then the silence came.
No thank you. No nod.
Just the sound of them walking away while you stood there holding the door. And now the quiet feels like an accusation.
Like maybe you only helped so they'd notice. Like maybe your love was a transaction that just bounced.
But listen. The light does not keep a ledger of who thanked whom.
The sun rose this morning without waiting for the earth to say thanks. It just shone.
It didn't shine to be applauded; it shone because that is what light does. Your worth is not determined by their response.
It is determined by the source that put the love inside you in the first place. You are not a merchant waiting for payment.
You are a lamp that was lit to burn, regardless of who sees the flame. The silence isn't rejection.
It's just the space where your love proves it was real.
