Peace Spoken Into Your Hiding

The sun is up, but you are still lying perfectly still in the dark, terrified that shifting your weight will restart the war you just exhausted yourself to avoid. You hold your breath to keep the peace, making your body a statue so the storm does not wake up again.

But the light does not need you to be invisible to love you. It sees the tension in your shoulders and the silence you are forced to keep.

There is a peace that does not depend on the room being quiet or the other person being happy. Jesus stood in the middle of a locked room where everyone was hiding and said: Peace be with you.

He did not wait for the fear to end. He spoke peace into the hiding.

You do not have to earn the right to exist by making yourself small. The light is already here, sitting on the edge of the bed, waiting for you to exhale.
