The Spring Inside Your Silence
The mask fits perfectly this morning. It holds your face together while the world demands you speak, you perform, you give.
But beneath the smile, there is a quiet terror: if you stop moving, if the noise finally dies down, the silence will reveal that you are empty. That there is nothing real left to offer.
You are running on fumes, afraid that stillness will expose the void. But listen — the light does not need your performance.
It sees the mask, and it sees the exhaustion behind it. Jesus sat at a well in the heat of the day and asked a woman with a shattered reputation for a drink.
He did not ask for her perfection. He did not ask for her composure.
He asked for what she had. And then he told her that a spring was already welling up inside her.
You are not the empty vessel you fear you are. The terror says you have nothing.
The truth says the spring is already there, bubbling up from a depth you cannot see. You do not have to generate the water.
You only have to stop blocking the flow. The mask can come down.
The silence will not kill you. It will finally let you hear the sound of your own life, rising to meet you.
