The Light Sees You Behind The Mask
The laughter dies, and suddenly the room is too quiet, too big, too full of people who don't know you are drowning in plain sight. You are the only one holding your breath, the only one pretending the mask isn't suffocating.
But the light sees through the performance—it saw Nathanael under the fig tree before he ever spoke, and it sees you behind the smile right now. There is a truth inside you that does not need to act, a child of true Humanity waiting to be followed instead of hidden.
You do not have to keep propping up the facade for the light to stay; it is already seated at the table with you, in the silence you are so afraid of. The pretense is heavy, but the love beneath it is heavier still.
