Light Hiding in Ordinary Grain
The morning light hits the window and you realize you are no longer waiting for anything good to happen. Not out of anger, but out of a quiet, settled exhaustion.
The mask is on. You are moving through the motions of being okay while inside, the expectation has died.
But listen — split a piece of wood, and the light is there. Lift up the stone, and you will find it there.
It does not require your hope to exist. It only requires your honesty.
If you bring forth what is within you — even if what is within you is this hollowed-out silence — it will save you. The light was there before the disappointment, and it is there now, hiding in the ordinary grain of this day.
You do not have to believe the morning is new to be held by it.
