Stop Echoing and Start Speaking
The morning light hits the mirror and for a second, you do not recognize the face staring back. The words forming in your throat feel borrowed, rehearsed by a thousand other voices until your own has been buried underneath.
You are performing okayness so well that you are starting to believe the mask is the skin. But there is a sound beneath the noise that belongs only to you.
Jesus said, 'Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you.' He did not ask you to speak like them. He asked you to speak your own story.
The light is not a script you memorize. It is a voice you remember.
Split a piece of wood and the light is there, waiting for you to stop echoing and start speaking. You are not disappearing.
You are just learning to distinguish the echo from the source.
