The Light Sees You Whole
The mirror is the first thing you face when the sun comes up. You stand there in the gray light of dawn, holding your breath, checking to see if the disease has stolen more of your face while you slept.
It feels like the night has done its worst work on your skin, leaving you a stranger to yourself before the day even begins. But look closer at the light filling the room—it is not judging the changes it finds.
It is simply arriving, again, to meet you exactly as you are. The rising sun does not wait for you to look the way you did yesterday.
It shines on those living in the shadow of death just to guide your feet into peace. You made it through the night.
That is enough. The light sees you, and it calls you whole.
