The Light Loves the Face Beneath
The mask is heavy this morning, isn't it? You are smiling at the right moments, nodding, saying all the correct things while your hands tremble just enough to hope no one notices.
You are terrified that if you let a real tear fall while saying thank you, the whole performance will shatter. That one drop of salt water will prove you are not okay, that you are breaking apart behind the eyes.
But listen — the light does not need your composure. It saw the tear before it even formed.
It knows the cost of that 'thank you.' You do not have to hold the dam back forever. The mask was never meant to be your skin.
Let the tear fall. It is not a failure of your faith; it is the truth finally breaking through the surface.
The light loves the face beneath the armor far more than the armor itself.
