The Father Runs Before You Speak
The middle of the day is when the mask feels heaviest, especially when someone asks you to lead and your throat closes up. You stand there with words that feel like ash in your mouth, terrified that everyone will see the drought inside you.
But the light does not need your performance to shine — it only needs your honesty. There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, and before the apology could even be finished, the father ran.
He did not wait for the speech to be perfect. He did not wait for the shame to be cleaned up.
He ran. Your stumbling words are not a barrier to the light; they are the very place where it meets you.
You do not have to be eloquent to be held. You just have to be there.
