The Silence Was Light All Along
The sun is up, but the silence in your chest feels heavier than the night was. You spoke into the dark, and the only answer was the sound of your own voice bouncing back. It feels as if the line has been cut. As if you are talking to a ceiling.
But look at the light coming through the window. It did not wait for you to say the right words. It did not wait for you to feel faithful. It arrived anyway. The rising sun does not ask for permission to shine on those living in the shadow of death.
You are not shouting into a void. You are breathing in a room that is already full of light, even if your eyes haven't adjusted yet. The silence you feel is not an absence. It is the space where the light is waiting for you to stop straining and just see.
The prayer didn't fail. The silence was the answer all along.
