the phantom voice of the apology you practiced a thousand times in your head but never spoke aloud

The Reaching Was Enough

The mask is heavy this morning, isn't it? You walk through the day wearing a face that says you are fine, while inside, you are rehearsing a speech you will never give.

An apology for something that happened years ago, or maybe just yesterday, looping in your mind until the words lose all meaning. You carry the weight of a conversation that never happened, convinced that if you could just say it, the air would clear.

But the light does not need your perfect sentence. There was a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years, untouchable and exhausted, who pushed through a crowd just to touch the edge of a cloak.

She did not offer a speech. She did not explain her shame.

She simply reached out from the silence. And the light stopped the entire procession to turn around and call her 'Daughter.' The apology was never required for the healing to begin.

The reaching was enough. Your silence has not hidden you from the love that sees right through the mask.

The words you never spoke are not a barrier between you and the light — they are just the heavy coat you can finally take off.
