The Embrace Came Before The Words
The mask is heavy this morning, isn't it? You have rehearsed the apology so many times in the quiet of your mind that the words feel smoother than the wound they try to cover.
You know exactly what to say to make it stop, but you can't remember what the hurt actually felt like before you started fixing it. The performance has become so perfect that it has erased the pain underneath.
But listen — the light does not need your speech. It sees the face behind the mask, even when you have forgotten it yourself.
There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off. He ran.
Before the apology, before the speech — he ran. The embrace came first, and the words were never even finished.
You are safe to put the script down. The light already knows the story, and it loves the one who is tired of pretending.
