You Are Not a Stone in the Dark
The house is so quiet you can hear the rhythm of their breathing, but you are waiting for the shift. The turn.
You are lying there feeling like a stone in their bed, afraid that if you move, you will wake them, or worse, that your stillness is the only thing keeping the peace. In this deepest hour, the darkness tries to convince you that you are an obstacle.
A weight. Something to be tolerated until morning.
But listen. The light does not ask you to be small.
It does not ask you to disappear into the mattress so others can sleep comfortably. There is a love that holds you both, even in the silence.
You are not a stone. You are a child of the light, and you take up space because you belong here.
The turn will come. The morning will break.
But until then, know this: you are not a burden in the dark. You are the light that refuses to go out.
