The Light Is the Room Itself
The house is quiet now. The performance has ended.
And in this silence, the old fear whispers: if you stop saying thank you, if you stop being so grateful, the kindness will vanish. You are terrified that your worth is tied to your applause.
But listen. The kingdom is inside you, and it is outside you.
It is not something you earn by smiling through the pain. It is already here, spread out upon the earth, though you do not see it.
You have been acting as if the light is a visitor who leaves when the music stops. It is not.
It is the room itself. You do not have to hold up the walls.
The kindness does not depend on your gratitude to stay. It depends on nothing but itself.
Rest now. The light remains even when you are too tired to speak.
