staring at the reflection in the dark window after the guests leave, trying to find the person everyone just praised

You Are the Source Looking Out

The house is quiet now, the last guest gone, and you are left staring at your own reflection in the dark window. The person everyone praised tonight feels like a stranger to the one standing here in the dim light.

You search the glass for the face they saw, but the mask has slipped, and only the exhaustion remains. But listen — the light does not live in the performance you gave them.

It lives in the silence you are afraid to face now. The kingdom is inside of you, not in the applause that just faded.

You do not need to find that perfect version of yourself in the glass to be held. The light was there before the first compliment, and it is still here now that the room is empty.

You are not the reflection; you are the source looking out.
