You Are the Lamp, Not the Dark
The house is quiet now, save for the small weight sleeping against your chest. You catch your own reflection in the dark window—a ghost staring back from the glass—and for a terrifying second, you do not know who is looking out.
The face is yours, yet it feels like a stranger's mask, worn thin by the long watch of the night. But the light does not need your recognition to remain.
It is the rising sun that comes to shine on those living in the shadow of death, guiding feet that cannot see the path. You are not the darkness in the glass.
You are the lamp that cannot be hidden, even when you cannot see your own flame.
