You Are Not a Trick Waiting
The house is quiet now, but your mind is loud with the memory of a kindness you received today. You replay the words, the smile, the moment someone saw good in you.
And then the shadow creeps in: they were mistaken. They will realize their error soon.
They will feel foolish for praising someone like you. In this deepest hour, the lie feels like truth.
But listen — when the light spoke to the paralyzed man, it did not say 'I see your potential.' It said, 'Son, your sins are forgiven.' It saw the whole mess and called it worthy anyway. The light does not make mistakes in its vision.
It saw you clearly then, and it sees you clearly now in the dark. What was given was not a loan you must repay with perfection.
It was a mirror held up to the truth that lives inside you. The person who praised you did not see a fraction of you; they saw the light that cannot be hidden.
You are not a trick waiting to be exposed. You are the thing they thought they saw.
