the crushing weight of apologizing for existing in your own home

You Do Not Need to Shrink

The house is quiet now, but your chest is still tight from the day. You have said 'I'm sorry' for taking up space, for breathing the same air, for being a burden just by existing in your own home.

You walk on eggshells in the place that should be your sanctuary, apologizing for your footprint. But listen — the light does not apologize for shining.

It simply is. And you are that light.

There is a truth living inside you that was there before the first harsh word, before the first sigh of annoyance directed your way. It cannot be erased by guilt.

The Father's house has many rooms, and one was prepared specifically for you. You do not need to earn your place at the table.

You do not need to make yourself smaller to fit. The love that made you is not annoyed by your presence.

It delights in it. Stop shrinking.

Stop saying sorry for the space you occupy. You belong here.
