Your Need Invites Love Closer
The house is quiet now, and the silence feels like a trap you built yourself. You are holding your breath, convinced that if you finally say the words—'I can't do this alone'—the air will leave the room and they will leave with it.
You treat your need like a stone too heavy to hand over, certain it will break the hands that have held you this far. But listen.
There is a bruised reed the light will not break, and a smoldering wick it will not snuff out. Your neediness is not the thing that drives love away; it is the very thing that invites it closer.
The light does not flee from the broken; it runs toward the one who admits they cannot walk. You do not have to be strong to be kept.
You only have to be honest enough to stop pretending you are not drowning.
