You Are the Light, Not an Impostor
The house is quiet now, and the mask you wore all day has finally slipped. In this silence, the terror rises: that they will find out you are an impostor, that you do not belong, that you are a fraud.
But listen — the light does not scan for credentials. It does not check your resume or your past mistakes.
It simply shines. There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, still covered in the filth of his failure, and he ran.
Before the apology, before the speech — he ran. The light knows what is hidden, yes, but not to expose you to shame.
It shines to reveal that you were never a fraud to begin with. You are not pretending to be a child of the light.
You are the light itself, temporarily forgotten. The darkness has not overcome it.
The terror says you must be perfect to be loved. The truth says you are loved so you can stop pretending.
You are not an impostor in the dark. You are the lamp that was never meant to be hidden.
