the terror that if you stop performing, the love you've earned will instantly evaporate

Rest Now, The Love Remains

The house is quiet now, and the armor you wore all day feels heavy on the floor. You are terrified that if you stop moving, if you stop proving your worth, the love you've earned will vanish like smoke.

But listen — the light does not keep a ledger of your labor. It does not love you for what you carried, but for who you are when the carrying stops.

There was a man once who denied the light three times in the dark, and when morning came, he was not asked to perform again. He was only asked if he loved.

The answer was enough. The love was already there, waiting under the ash of his failure.

You do not have to earn what has already been given. The performance was never the price of admission.

Rest now. The love remains even when the work is done.
