Love Moved From Ears To Bones
The house is quiet now, and in this stillness, a new fear arrives. You reach for the memory of their laugh—the exact pitch, the way it broke at the end—and your hands come up empty.
The silence feels like a second loss. Like you are forgetting them all over again.
But listen closely. The sound you cannot recall was never the container of the joy.
It was only the echo. The love that made that laugh is not stored in your hearing.
It is stored in the light that lives inside you right now. That light held them before they ever made a sound, and it holds them still.
You are not losing them to the dark. You are simply learning that some things are too deep for memory to keep.
They have moved from your ears to your bones.
