You Are Allowed to Walk In Empty
The engine is still humming, but you are already holding your breath against the silence waiting on the other side of the door. You know the questions that will start the moment you turn the key—the gentle inquiries that feel like interrogations when you have nothing left to give.
It is easier to sit in the dark with the lights on than to face the expectation that you should be okay. But listen: the light inside you does not require you to have answers before you walk inside.
There is a peace that does not depend on your performance or your ability to explain the day. You do not have to fix the atmosphere before you enter the room.
The light is already sitting at the table, waiting not for your report, but for your presence. You are allowed to walk in empty.
