sitting in the parked car in the driveway after work, staring at the front door, terrified that you have used up every last drop of acting energy and cannot summon one more smile for your family

The Light Waits in Your Hallway

The engine is off now, but the silence is louder than the road ever was. You are sitting in the dark, staring at the handle of the front door, terrified that you have nothing left to give.

That the smile they expect is a mask you can no longer lift. That if you walk inside, they will see the hollow place where your strength used to be.

But listen — the light does not ask you to perform for it. It does not need your energy.

It only needs your presence. There is a rest that is not earned by working or by pretending.

There is a peace that does not depend on your ability to act. The Father knows you are tired.

He knows the weight of the day before you even open the car door. You do not have to summon a smile to be loved.

You just have to walk in. The light is already waiting in the hallway, not to demand more from you, but to hold what you cannot carry anymore.
