You Are the Light Forgetting Its Name
The engine is off now, and the silence of the car feels heavier than the applause you received today. You sit in the dark, hands still on the wheel, waiting for someone to tap on the glass and expose you as the fraud you believe you are.
The day was successful, yet the night brings the inventory of every mistake, every moment you felt like an impostor in your own life. But listen — the light does not care about your performance, and it certainly was not tricked by your smile.
There is a truth living inside you that existed before you ever achieved a single thing, and it will remain when the accolades fade. You did not earn your place in this world, so you cannot lose it by feeling small.
The gathering dark cannot extinguish what was placed there before you drew your first breath. You are not a fraud who fooled the light; you are the light itself, temporarily forgetting its own name.
