The Light Sees Your Exhaustion
The engine is off, but you are still sitting in the silence of the driveway, rehearsing the curve of a smile that doesn't quite reach your eyes. You are building a mask so they won't worry when you walk through the door, practicing the performance of being okay while your heart feels heavy.
But the light that lives inside you does not need your performance to see you clearly. It sees the exhaustion behind the grin before you even turn the key.
There is a truth that lives in us and will be with us forever, and it knows the weight you are carrying even when your face says otherwise. You do not have to earn your place at the table by pretending the burden isn't there.
The light is already inside, waiting for you to stop acting and just be.
