Jesus Weeping With You in the Car
The engine is off, but the shaking hasn't stopped. You are sitting in the driveway, gripping the wheel because it is the only thing holding you together right now.
The house is dark behind those windows, and walking into that silence feels like walking into a void. But you do not have to go in yet.
The light is not waiting for you inside the walls; it is here with you in the car, in the tears, in the dark. Jesus knows what it is to be overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death, to ask for the cup to pass while alone in the garden.
He is not asking you to stop crying. He is sitting on the passenger seat, weeping with you.
Do not wipe your face. Do not force the door open before you are ready.
The grace that holds you is entire, and it will protect you right here in this seat until you can stand.
