The Light Meets You on the Floor
The door clicks shut. The silence rushes in to fill the space where their voices just were.
And suddenly, your legs give out. You slide down the wall to the floor because you held yourself so rigidly together for their sake, and now there is no one left to perform for.
The armor you wore all day was heavy, and you carried it with a smile. But the light does not need you standing right now.
It is here on the floor with you, in the dust of your exhaustion. The strength you spent was real, but the source was never your own muscles.
You are allowed to collapse. The light catches you not when you are strong, but when you are empty.
