The Light Holds the Actor Too
The day is finally ending, and the armor you wore for twelve hours is heavy on the floor. You played a part today.
You smiled when you were hollow. You spoke with a voice that wasn't quite yours.
And then you heard it recorded. A stranger's voice coming from your own throat.
It felt like a lie. It felt like imposture.
But listen. The light does not demand a performance.
It does not need the polished version you tried to sell the world. God is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.
The light shines on the actor and the authentic self alike. That voice you hate?
It is the sound of someone trying to survive. And the light is already inside that survival.
You do not have to be real to be held. You just have to be here.
The mask was heavy, but you are allowed to put it down now.
