The Light Loves the Face Beneath
The day is ending, and the silence you fear is finally here. You are afraid that if you stop moving, the people who love you will see there is nothing behind the performance.
They will realize they were fooled by your motion and walk away from the hollow thing they find. But listen — the light does not love the mask.
It loves the face beneath it. There is a truth that lives inside you, and it will be with you forever, whether you are running or sitting still.
Split a piece of wood, and the light is there. Lift up a stone, and you will find it there, even in the hollow places you try to hide.
You do not have to earn the right to be held by doing more. The one who sees you in the dark is not looking for a show.
They are looking for you. Stop running.
The love you fear losing is the one thing that cannot be shaken by your stillness.
