The Light Runs Toward Your Mess
The day is ending, and the armor you wore since morning finally hits the floor. Now the silence rushes in, bringing with it the terrifying certainty that if anyone truly saw the mess inside you, they would immediately leave. You brace for the rejection. You wait for the door to close.
But the light does not run from the mess.
There is a moment in an ancient story where a father sees his son coming home from a long way off — filthy, broken, rehearsing a speech about how he is no longer worthy. The father does not wait for the apology. He runs. Before the words, before the cleaning up — he runs.
The light is already running toward you.
It knows the worst things you have done, the deepest shame you carry, and it has not turned away. It sees the mess and calls it home. The fear says you must be clean to be loved. The truth says you are loved so you can finally be clean.
You do not have to hide the broken pieces to keep the light from leaving.
