Held in the Quiet When You Cannot Move
The day has worn you down to the thread. You made it through the performance, the masks, the endless giving of pieces of yourself until there was nothing left but the drive home.
Now the door is locked. The silence is loud enough to hurt.
You sit in the dark, too empty even to cry, just staring at your hands while the world screams inside your head. But listen — the light does not require your energy.
It does not need you to stand up or speak or fix anything. In the middle of this long, gray afternoon, the seed is sprouting all by itself, though you do not know how.
The growth happens while you sit still. The light is working in the silence you think is empty.
You are not failing because you cannot move. You are being held in the quiet.
