The Light Thrives in Your Cracks
The afternoon light is flat and heavy, pressing against the windows of the long middle. You are moving through the routine, smiling at the right moments, nodding when you should.
But then you catch yourself. Someone leans in, perhaps just to ask how you are, and you are already rehearsing the excuse.
You are building the wall before they even reach for the door. You say you are fine before they have a chance to ask if you are not.
This is the exhaustion of the middle hour — the armor has become so heavy you forget you are wearing it. You push them away to save them the trouble of seeing what is underneath.
But listen — the light does not need you to be untouched. It thrives in the cracks.
There is a voice that says: I am willing. Not willing to fix you from a distance, but willing to reach out and touch the very thing you are hiding.
The barrier you built to protect yourself is the very thing keeping you from the peace you are desperate to find. Put the excuse down.
Let the hand land on your shoulder. You do not have to hold yourself together anymore.
