The Light Returns Whether You Speak

The cursor blinks on a message you will never send. You type the weight out of your chest, letter by letter, just to feel it leave your fingers one last time before the dawn breaks.

The sun is rising outside, not because you earned it, but because the light returns whether you speak or stay silent. There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off — he ran before the apology was finished.

The words you cannot send are already known. The light that woke up this morning was already inside you before you typed a single word.

You made it through the night. That is enough.
