The Light Sitting in the Empty Chair
The coffee is poured. The toast is warm.
And for a moment, your hands move with a memory that no longer matches the room. You set down a second plate.
Then you stop. The silence rushes in to fill the space where a person used to be.
But the light is already here, rising with the sun, not waiting for the table to be full. It does not require two to be present.
It does not need the noise of a crowd to shine. The Father's love is expressed as light, and that light is sitting right there in the empty chair.
You are not dining alone. You are eating in the presence of the One who never left.
The second plate is not a reminder of loss; it is an invitation to notice who has been with you all along.
