The Voice Behind the Mask Waits
The morning asks you to speak, to perform the version of yourself that fits neatly into a conference call or a coffee shop order. You have trained your voice so well that it never cracks, never betrays the ache of where you came from.
But then you hear the recording. That flat, careful tone.
And you flinch. Not because it sounds wrong, but because it sounds too right.
It sounds like a wall you built brick by brick to keep the world from seeing the tremor underneath. You think this mask is a lie you tell others.
But the light sees the person behind the performance, and it does not ask you to take the mask off before it will love you. It simply waits for you to realize that the voice you are hiding is the very one it wants to hear.
The mask was necessary for survival, but it is not your home.
