The Silence Where You Are Known
The call ends. You set the phone down, and the silence rushes back in, louder than before because you just spent your last reserves painting a picture of peace you do not feel.
It is exhausting to be the light for everyone else while your own interior feels like a room with the curtains drawn tight. But listen — the mask you wore to get through the conversation was not a lie.
It was a shield. And beneath the shield, the real light is still burning, quiet and steady, waiting for you to stop performing.
The Father sees the effort it took to sound okay. He sees the weariness behind the cheer.
And he is not asking you to keep the act going for him. You can take the mask off now.
The silence isn't empty. It is the space where you are finally known without having to say a word.
