The Light Needs No Performance
The afternoon wears on, and you find yourself editing every word before it leaves your lips, terrified that a single unfiltered sound will expose the fraud you believe you are. You rehearse the safe response, the polite nod, the version of yourself that fits neatly into the room.
But the light does not require your performance. It knows where you came from.
You came from the light, the place where the light generates itself, and that origin cannot be masked by your careful scripts. There is light within you already, and it lights up the whole world without needing your permission or your polish.
If you do not bring forth what is within you, the hiding will slowly destroy you, but the truth you are guarding is the very thing that saves. Stop trying to curate the reflection.
The light was there before you started speaking, and it will remain when you fall silent.
