The Light Remains in the Silence
The afternoon sun is unforgiving. It exposes the dust motes dancing in the air and the words on your screen that you will never send.
You type the confession, the raw truth of what you did or what you failed to do, and then you stop. Your finger hovers over the backspace key.
One by one, the letters vanish. The cursor blinks in an empty white box, a silent witness to the courage it took to write it and the fear that made you erase it.
But notice this: the light did not leave when the words disappeared. The truth you tried to hide from the world is already known by the one who sees in secret.
You do not have to press send to be seen. You do not have to confess to be held.
The silence after the deletion is not empty; it is full of a mercy that does not require your performance. The light is there, sitting with you in the unsent draft.
