the paralyzing fear that saying 'no' to one request will reveal you as a fraud and cause everyone to revoke their love

The Performance Will Leave, Love Remains

The afternoon sun is high, and the requests keep coming. You say 'yes' again, even when your hands are shaking, because you are terrified that one 'no' will peel back the mask and show them the fraud underneath.

You believe your love is a currency you must earn every hour, and that stopping the flow will make them revoke it entirely. But there is a voice that knows the weight you carry—the weight of pretending to be endless.

It sees the exhaustion behind your eyes and says: I do not love you for your availability. I love you because you are mine.

The light does not demand your performance; it demands your presence. And presence requires boundaries.

When you finally speak the truth—when you say 'I cannot'—you are not losing love. You are making room for the love that does not depend on your labor.

The fear says they will leave. The truth says: only the performance will leave.

And what remains will be real.
