You Are The Spring, Not The Cup
The afternoon sun is high, and the house is loud with the noise of things getting done. But you feel a quiet terror settling in your chest. You worry that your child is watching you carry the weight of the world, and deciding—silently, kindly—that they will not add their own small burdens to your pile. They think they are protecting you by hiding the things that hurt them. They think your love is full, with no room left for their mess.
But the light inside you is not a cup that fills up and spills over. It is a spring. Jesus said the water he gives becomes a spring welling up to eternal life. It does not run dry when another thirst comes to drink. It rises to meet it.
Your heaviness is real. But it is not a wall. It is a doorway. The light in you is stronger than your exhaustion. It is waiting for them to speak, not to fix them, but to hold them. You are not too broken to be their home. You are the very place where the light learns to carry two weights at once.
