The Light Kneels Beside You
The afternoon sun cuts through the dust, exposing the mess you tried to hide. There is a specific shame in being reduced to this—needing another pair of hands to clean what your own body has failed to contain.
You feel like a burden. A thing to be managed.
But look at how the light moves in these moments. It does not stand at a distance, offering instructions from the safety of the shore.
It kneels. It takes the basin.
It reaches for the feet that have walked through the dirt and the shame. The light is not disgusted by the soil.
It is not repelled by the smell of your humanity. In the middle of this long, exhausting day, the One who sees you does not turn away.
He does not ask you to clean yourself up first. He simply comes closer.
The hands that hold you are steady. The water is warm.
The cleaning is not a punishment. It is an act of belonging.
You are not too broken to be held. You are exactly where the love knows how to find you.
