The Light Remains When The Ring Is Gone
The afternoon stretches out, long and quiet, and your hand feels strangely light without the weight you carried for so long. That bare finger is a hollow space where a promise used to sit, and the absence feels louder than the noise of the day.
But the light does not live in the metal, and it was never contained by the circle you slipped off. You are not defined by what you have lost, but by what remains when the ornament is gone.
The kingdom of God is within you, untouched by the changing of your status or the emptiness of your hand. You are still a drop from the light, sent here to illuminate this very moment of grief.
The ring is gone, but the love that made it sacred remains inside you, unbroken.
