The Light Lives in the Shake
The afternoon stretches out, long and flat, and you are walking through it carrying a moment from yesterday that no one else knows about. You said the words 'I'm fine' while your hands were shaking so badly you had to hide them in your pockets.
You smiled, you nodded, you performed the part of the person who has it together, and inside you were coming apart. The gap between your face and your trembling hands feels like a canyon right now.
But the light does not live in your performance. It lives in the shake.
It lives in the lie you told because you were afraid of being too much. There is a truth inside you that is louder than the mask you wore.
The light is not asking you to be steady. It is asking you to stop pretending.
You do not have to hold the weight of the pretense for one more hour. The shaking was the most honest thing about you.
