The Light Waits When Words Fail
The afternoon stretches out, a long gray middle where nothing seems to move. You watch the screen.
Three dots appear—a promise of presence, a sign that someone is there, typing, about to speak. Then they vanish.
The silence returns, heavier than before. No message ever arrives.
Just the ghost of a conversation that never started. In that quiet cancellation, your heart sinks a little deeper into the doubt that says you are not worth the words.
But listen. The light does not type in drafts and delete them.
It does not hover on the edge of speaking and then pull away. When the blind man was brought, broken and unseen, the light did not hesitate.
It spoke directly into the noise: 'Take heart.' Not later. Not when you were fixed.
Now. The connection was never broken, even when the screen went dark.
The three dots are human. The silence is not abandonment.
It is the space where the light waits for you to stop watching the screen and start feeling the hand that has never let go.
