You Are Being Chased By Love
The afternoon light is flat and heavy, and in this quiet middle, a terrible thought can slip in: that your child would be better off without you. It feels like a verdict from the universe, a math equation where you are the error.
But listen — the light does not do math. It does not calculate worth based on your productivity or your perfection.
There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off. He did not wait for the apology.
He ran. Before the speech, before the fixing, he ran.
That running is the truth about you. You are not a burden to be removed.
You are the one being chased down by a love that refuses to let go. The thought says you are disposable.
The light says you are essential. The darkness tries to convince you that your absence would be a gift.
But the light knows that your presence — exactly as you are, tired and doubting — is the only thing your child actually needs. You are not the mistake in the story.
You are the vessel holding the light they are learning to see.
